With the ever increasing quantity of sensitive material held by the public sector about citizens, there is a desire for people to know what is held about them, and great risks in failing to handle it appropriately. Public bodies must be prepared to meet the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulations . Information Commissioner, Elizabeth Denham was our keynote speaker talking about information rights and the statutory responsibilities of public bodies. Wealso heard from:
- Dermot Nolan, CEO at Ofgem, on the UK Regulators' Network report of making better use of data;
- George Danezis Professor of Security and Privacy Engineering at University College London, and Advisor to Privitar, on data privacy and security.
This was a joint event with ACE’s sister organisation the Public Chairs' Forum and was sponsored by Privitar.View Event Summary
