20th September 2019 | 10:00 to 12:00
Public bodies are responsible for running and supporting the delivery of many government major projects, and there have been many that have not gone according to plan. This seminar will be an opportunity for ACE members to consider how to run a major project effectively. Members will hear from:
- Paul Chapman, Academy Director of the Major Projects Leadership Academy, a leading expert on the learning and development of those responsible for leading the delivery of major programmes.
- Nick Smallwood, newly appointed CEO of the Infrastructure and Projects Authority, the government’s centre of expertise for infrastructure and major projects.
- Rebecca Sheeran, Executive Leader with the National Audit Office, who oversees much of the NAO’s work on major infrastructure and equipment programmes.
- Martin Jones, who was the Senior Responsible Office for a cross-agency programme providing language services to the criminal justice system. Following problems with that contract and a critical National Audit Office report, Martin appeared before the Public Accounts Committee in 2012. He will draws on the lessons learned from that experience in overseeing programmes as CEO of the Parole Board.
The event will take place at the Institute for Government, 2 Carlton Gardens, London, SW1Y 5AA.
