30th January 2017 | 4 - 6.30pm
Examining the importance of having a diverse and inclusive workforce, ACE members heard from:
Anna Turney, Paralympic skier. In 2006 Anna broke her back snowboard racing; she now competes in the same disciplines as Olympic ski racers, on the same runs and the same courses, but without the use of her legs. We look forward to hearing about her extraordinary personal journey and her perspective on how to unlock underappreciated potential.
Sue Owen, Permanent Secretary and LGB&T Champion. Having contributed just yesterday to our Annual Conference as the Permanent Secretary at the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, we next welcome Sue's perspective as civil service LGB&T champion. She believes staff are both happier and more productive when they can be themselves at work and we look forward to hearing lessons from her work to make the Civil Service more inclusive.
Lesley Longstone, Chief Executive at the Independent Police Complaints Commission. Diversity and inclusion has been a priority for Lesley since she joined the IPCC in 2014, and we look forward to her sharing the results of the work she has been doing to transform her organisation's approach in her role as Chief Executive.View Event Summary
